General Notes: Husband - Daniel Potts
He was reared on the farm of his father, and when a young man learned the trade of carriage builder. This he followed for several years at Delmont, Pennsylvania. Later he turned his attention to agriculture, which he resigned in favor of a commercial venture. He opened a furniture store in Delmont, which he conducted until his death there, at the age of sixty-two years. He was a Republican, but was consistently liberal in his political views. He was a member of the Evangelical Lutheran church, and though frequently offered the positions of deacon and elder he never cared to hold church office. He was, however, an earnest and useful worker in the church, a man whose counsel was often sought in church matters, a source of strength to the church, and a help to his pastor.
He and his wife had nine children, of whom seven were living in 1890.
