General Notes: Husband - Thomas Potter

He was killed by the Indians after the capture of the Bard family, April 13, 1758. The place of his murder was still pointed out one hundred and fifty years later, a short distance north of Virginia Mills, in Adams County, Pennsylvania. Judge Bard, in his "Narrative," calls him Lieutenant Potter. He probably served in that capacity in his father's company, on the Conococheague, 1756-57.
