General Notes: Husband - Robert Shrum

He received his education in the common schools. At twenty-one years of age he began working in a sawmill where he remained about six years. He then turned his attention to farming, and from that time on made agriculture his sole occupation. He held every office in the township, and supported with his vote and influence the Republican party. He was an elder in the Presbyterian church of Ligonier. In October, 1905, he bought a home in Ligonier, where he then resided. He rented out his farm and lived a retired life.
