General Notes: Husband - Peter Bauer

---

He was born in Hesse Darmstadt, Germany, and emigrated with his wife and three children to Maryland, settling close to the Pennsylvania line. In 1846 he came to Jefferson township, Butler County, Pennsylvania, pur-chased a farm, and resided thereon down to his death. He and his wife were members of St. Mark's Lutheran church of Butler, in which organization he filled the office of deacon. Politically, he was a Democrat.
