General Notes: Husband - George Scott

---

He was the first settler on the farm [in Summit Township, Butler County, Pennyslvania,?] that became the family homestead, which he secured from the Government. He was of Scotch-Irish descent and came to Butler County, at a very early day, finding himself almost alone when he built his log cabin in the forest. He cleared his land and made improvements which greatly increased the value of the property, which, in turn, came into the possession of his son, Mitchell.
