General Notes: Husband - Andrew Pierce
He came into Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, with the Wall and Applegate familes, from New Jersey, and he built the first mill on the Monongahela river.
Some time about 1750 Andrew Pierce, a native of England, came to America, and located for a short time in New York. Later he moved to New Jersey, where he was married, and became the father of seven sons. He came to western Pennsylvania and purchased four thousand acres of land in what is now Elizabeth township, Allegheny County. There he remained until the outbreak of the Revolution, when, with his two sons, he came east and entered the service of his country. At the close of that struggle he returned to Allegheny County, and continued farming until his death.
