General Notes: Husband - John Philips

---

He was the sixth son among is siblings; was born and reared on the farm where he later resided, and which he owned, and was educated in the log school-house. He owned seventy-five acres of the tract originally purchased by his grandfather.
He and his family were members of the Baptist Church; he was a republican.
