The ancestors of this family were of English stock, emigrating from Warrington, Lancashire County, to America in early colonial times, and settling in the Kishacoquillas Valley in Mifflin County, Pennsylvania.

Little positive is known of him, as he died early in life. He was a farmer by occupation, and lived and died in the eastern part of Pennsylvania.
