General Notes: Husband - John Perkins
The immigrant ancestor of this Perkins family, a John Perkins came from England in 1630 and at first located in Boston, Massachusetts, for about two years. He made his permanent residence at Ipswich. His family settled in different parts of the East, one of his sons settling at Hartford, Connecticut, being the ancestor of this John Perkins.
He was from Plainfield, Windham County, Connecticut, and was a member of the first school committee of Westmoreland, Pennsylvania. He was a Revolutionary soldier. He was killed about the time of the Wyoming massacre, under conditions which are noted in Miners History. [CAB, 449]
