General Notes: Husband - Frank DeWitt Peoples
He attended the public schools and then took a special course in a business college. After leaving school, Mr. Peoples entered the employ of the Westmoreland Coal Company, and later was with the First National Bank of Irwin, and remained with that institution for a period of twelve years, winning a promotion to the post of assistant cashier. He then became one of the prime movers in the founding of the Irwin Savings and Trust Company, which was established in 1922 by a group of business men, and capitalized at $200,000. It occupied a new, modern building, erected for the purpose, and although it was the youngest bank in Irwin, it showed a very rapid growth. From its organization Mr. Peoples held the post of secretary and treasurer. He was a prominent member of the Kiwanis Club and various other local organizations. He attended the First Baptist Church. In politics he was a Republican.
