General Notes: Husband - William M. Russell
After marriage he opened a book and drug store in Canonsburg, Washington County, Pennsylvania, keeping a full line of school and college text-books. In 1862 he moved to a farm in Mt. Pleasant township, and in 1881 settled on a farm in Chartiers township, comprising 135 acres of good land.
He and his wife had ten children; four were still living in 1893.
In his younger days he followed the occupation of a druggist, but the greater part of his life was spent as a tiller of the soil. In 1865 he was elected ruling elder of the Hickory United Presbyterian church, and served as such until he left the neighborhood. [MACP, 306]
