General Notes: Husband - Zacharias Peese
He lived at home until twenty years of age, receiving a limited education, and assisted his father in transporting the farm produce to Pittsburgh, making the journey by wagons through miles of unbroken forest.
When twenty-one years of age his father exchanged farms with his uncle, Andrew Pees, securing in the exchange a saw and grist mill, known far and wide as "Pees Mills," of which Zacharias took charge and operated fourteen years.
About 1825 he bought and prepared to move onto a farm in Ohio, but yielding to the request of his father, sold it, and settled on a place in North Strabane township where his son William later lived. He then bought the farm later owned by his son Andrew J.
Mr. Pease was always a Democrat, and filled several township offices. He joined the Presbyterian Church at the age of eighteen years, and was an elder and member of the Pigeon Creek Church for many years.
