General Notes: Husband - George Patton

He was a native of Ireland, who came to America as a soldier in the British army, but soon changed his allegiance and took part with the Colonies in their struggle for independence. He participated in the battle of Trenton, also was at Fort Duquesne, and served through the war. At its close he settled in the eastern part of Pennsylvania, but later removed to Armstrong County, where his death occurred.

After settling in America, he changed his surname to Patty and this form has been used by his descendants ever since. [Another source states that it was his son George who changed the name.]
