General Notes: Husband - Thomas Patterson, Esq.
After attending the public schools, he was educated at the Western University of Pennsylvania, and followed teaching at the Sewickley Academy, after he spent one year at the Columbia Law School, during the years of 1879-80. He was admitted to practice in the Allegheny county bar December 30, 1880, after which time he was in constant legal practice at Pittsburgh, where he obtained a lucrative practice and has won the esteem of a large clientage, as well as of his fellow-attorneys at the bar. While he was a Republican in politics, he never hesitated to exercise the right to ignore the party lines when unsuitable candidates appeared on the ticket of his own party. He was a member of Leetsdale Presbyterian church, his religious faith being that of his forefathers for many generations back.
