General Notes: Husband - Hugh Scott

He was a native of Ireland, who came to America while the war for independence was being waged, sending for his wife and two children when peace had been restored. Their home was for a time in Chester County, Pennsylvania, after which they journeyed westward and located in Chippewa township, Beaver County, where he became owner of a tract of one hundred and eighty-three acres. He prepared a place for a house, built it, and then began to remove the dense woods, gradually increasing his arable area until he had a farm of generous dimensions, capable of supplying the needs of his family. Here he died while still in the prime of life.
