He was born in New York state, and came with his father to Clearfield County, Pennsylvania. He married, and for some time they resided in Burnside township, where he owned a fine home and much real estate. He died at Snow Shoe while on his way home from Philadelphia, where he had gone for medical treatment. He left a widow and four children.
