Crawford Co, PA
After obtaining a common school education, he took a short course at Allegheny Col­lege. He served his township in most of its offices, always fulfilling his duties faithfully and to the satisfaction of the people. He was a man of strict integ­rity, and highly respected by the entire community. In politics he was a Democrat. He and his wife gave their son a good farm as a start in life, and had a farm of 160 acres left.
