General Notes: Husband - David K. Patterson
His education was received in the common schools and he always devoted his time and attention to the pursuits of agriculture. For twelve years he was a renter, then purchased a share in the Park farm and later the entire farm. He was an extensive stockraiser and politically was a democrat. He was a member of the Presbyterian church, in which he served as trustee.
He received such educational advantages as the district public schools afforded, then began working on a farm. Later he rented a farm in Franklin township, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, and, after twelve years as a tenant, he was able to purchase a share of the Park farm in Franklin township. After a few years he purchased the entire farm and there ended his days. He devoted his farm to general crops, but gave a great deal of attention to stock raising, selecting choice breeds of both horses and cattle, and in time became an extensive breeder and dealer in the better grades. He was a Democrat in politics, and a Presbyterian in religion, serving his church as trustee.
