General Notes: Husband - Nathan Ritz
His education was acquired in the common schools of St. Petersburg, Clarion County, Pennsylvania, and his youth and young manhood were passed on the farm. When he came of age he continued his vocation as a farmer, and removed to Venango County, where he lived for thirty-two years on a farm of from thirty to fifty acres in extent. He returned to his father's farm after the death of his elder brother, John, who had managed the place, and there he continued to follow the old calling, adding considerably to the scope of the original homestead. His lands covered about one hundred and seventeen acres in the rear of St. Petersburg. To his activities as a general farmer he added stock raising, and had also six oil wells and two gas wells on the place. Though a staunch Democrat, he was never an active politician nor aspired to office. Like his parents he was a member of the Reformed church which he attended from childhood.
