General Notes: Husband - Daniel Barnett

He was a farmer, and owned a farm of thirty acres with a coal mine, employing three men. He enlisted on March 31, 1864, in Company E, Seventy-eighth Pennsylvania Volunteers, and served during the war.

In April, 1871, he took up his residence on a farm, a well improved property containing forty acres, on which stood a substantial house and barn. There were also three good oil wells on the place.
In his political views Mr. Barnett was a Silver Republican, and he and his wife held membership in the Methodist Episcopal Church. He was a strong advocate of temperance, and a warm friend of the cause of education.
