General Notes: Husband - John O'Neil

He and his wife were born in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, married when young, and came to Allegheny County, settling in what became the borough of Hays. The farm John O'Neil owned and on which he resided until late in life was later part of the James Hays estate.
He was a farmer by occupation.

He was drafted from Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, to serve in the Revolution, and while on his way to join the Federal forces, he was dismissed, because the war had closed.
