General Notes: Husband - Gideon Richardson
He came from Brooklyn, NY, to Venango County, PA, on foot and purchased one hundred and sixty acres of land in a portion of Venango County that later became part of Clarion County. His family came in the following spring. He was in the war of 1812.
He came from the State of New York to Elk Township, Clarion County, PA, in 1812, settling near Elk City with his family. When he first came he acted as land agent for Huidekoper and Judge Shippen, but subsequently bought land and improved it. He was a member of the first board of commissioners of Clarion county. [HCC 1887, 506]
He removed, in 1812, to Elk township, Clarion county, Pennsylvania, where he was at first a land agent and subsequently a farmer. He was a member of the first board of commissioners of Clarion county. He was six feet four inches in height and was a soldier in the war of 1812. He was a Whig in politics.
