General Notes: Husband - Jeffery Scaife

His father was a tea-merchant, who died and was buried at Barbados. The family is of Danish origin, and has been traced back to the year 1653.

He and his wife came from Yorkshire, England, to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, about the beginning of the ninteenth century, and in 1802 he engaged in the manufacture of tin and sheet-iron ware. His only surviving son, William B., succeeded to the business.
