General Notes: Husband - Riley Preston

His early days were spent on a farm, assisting his widowed mother and securing an education. He accompanied his mother and step-father to Camden, New York, and later accompanied his brother-in-law, Spencer Johnston, to Farmington Center, Pennsylvania, where the latter purchased a farm of two hundred and fifty acres. Mr. Preston remained with him until he was twenty-one years old, when Mr. Johnston presented him with a farm of fifty acres, to which he later added, by two purchases, one hundred acres.
