He and his wife were married in New Lebanon, Mercer County, Pennsylvania, and resided there for a number of years before moving to Polk, Venango County. He was in the insurance business most of his life; in later years he was employed at Polk State School. He and his wife were members of the Polk Methodist Church and he was a Democrat.
