General Notes: Husband - Samuel Remaley
He attended the common schools in the vicinity of his home, and after the death of his father inherited the farm and mills owned and operated by the latter. The first mill operated by his father was an old water power mill, which was later remodelled and which was operated for thirty-one years, at which time, February, 1900, it was destroyed by fire, but later re-built. After the death of Samuel Ramaley, the mills owned and operated by members of the family for his widow were extensive and equipped with steam power, their business being confined principally to grinding for the farmers in the community.
Samuel Remaley was a member of the Hill Emanuel Reformed Church, taking an active and prominent part in the building of the new edifice, and he also served as elder, deacon and superintendent of the Sunday school. He was a Democrat in politics.
