General Notes: Husband - Ezra G. Nicely

---

He was born on the old family homestead where he spent the greater part of his life as a husbandman. During the year 1884 he was proprietor of the National Hotel, Ligonier, but speedily returned to his farm which was one of the finest in the Ligonier valley. It consisted of one hundred and twenty-five acres and was situated about three and a half miles west of Ligonier. The old house, which was still standing into the twentieth century, and in a good state of preservation, was built about 1756. In a field adjoining the house was the highest point of land in the valley. During the summer the house was open for the reception of guests from the city, who crowded it to its utmost capacity. Mr. Nicely and his family were members of the Lutheran church of Ligonier. He was a Republican.
