General Notes: Husband - Francis Nesbit

In April, 1802, Francis Nesbit came, with his family, and settled on Hickory creek, south of Mount Jackson. They came from Cumberland County, Pennsylvania, although the Nesbits were originally from Scotland. [HLC 1877, 66]

He came from the eastern part of Pennsylvania to North Beaver Township, then a part of Beaver County, in 1795. He had been a soldier in the Revolutionary War. He secured a half section of land which is the site of the village of Mount Jackson, and on this he lived until his death. [TCHNCLC, 472]
