General Notes: Husband - Robert L. Shaw

He acquired his education in the public schools of his native county, and at a suitable age was apprenticed to learn the trade of carpentering. This he followed for some time and then engaged in oil production. In 1888 he purchased a farm of one hundred and thirty acres in Vernon township, Crawford County, Pennsylvania, and located there. He was a member of the Presbyterian church, and served as supervisor of Vernon township.
