General Notes: Husband - James Thompson
He and his wife were both natives of County Donegal, Ireland, who came to the United States, and were married in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Prior to 1847 they came to Armstrong County, Pennsylvania, settling in Cowanshannock township, where they bought a tract of fifty acres on which they lived for three years. At the expiration of that period they were able to buy 120 acres of land which they improved to some extent.
