General Notes: Husband - Leonard L. Ray
He received his education at Cooperstown Academy and learned the blacksmith trade with his father and followed that business. He was an active member of the Democratic party, and in 1889 was elected sheriff of Venango county. He served as burgess and councilman of the borough of Cooperstown. May 29, 1885, he was elected captain of Company E, Sixteenth Regiment National Guards of Pennsylvania. He belonged to the A. O. U. W., the K. and L. of H., and the Methodist Episcopal church.
