General Notes: Husband - Thomas Paxton

He was born in Canton township [another source: Chartiers township], Washington County, Pennsylvania, and became a substantial pioneer farmer and a leader among the woolgrowers of the county in his generation. He was reared in the old Hickory Seceder church and after the union of 1858 became a member of the Cross Road United Presbyterian church.

Her parents were of Scotch-Irish descent, and natives of Ohio, the pioneers of the family having settled in that state in an early day.

Another source states she was born in Jefferson County, Ohio.
