Ruth Ann Whitmer
Ruth Ann Whitmer, 51, of Sligo RD 1, died at 9:30 pm Tuesday at the Clarview Rest Home in Sligo following a lengthy illness.
Born February 14, 1938, she was a daughter of Kathleen Exley Murray and the late Albert Murray.
She married Ray B. Whitmer on November 23, 1957. He survives.
Mrs. Whitmer was a homemaker and a member, of the Callensburg United Methodist Church.
In addition to her mother and husband, she is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Michael (Debra) Fye of Sligo RD 1; and two sons, Danny Whitmer of Elizabeth and Rodney Whitmer of Clarion.
Also surviving are five sisters, Mrs. John (Martha Jane) Campbell of Eau Claire, Mrs. Duane (Betty) Jordan of Parker RD, Geraldine Waters of Parker RD, Caroline Murray of Parker RD and Mrs. Tom (Shirley) Rossey of Corsica; and three grandchildren.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a brother, Forrest Murray.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm today and from 1 to 2 pm Friday at the Varner Funeral Home in Sligo.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 pm Friday at the funeral home. Rev. Mervin Schwab, retired Methodist minister, will officiate.
Interment will follow in Callensburg Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the United Community Services of Clarion or the Alzheimer's Support Group of Clarview.
