General Notes: Husband - Thomas Wilson

He was born in Ireland and emigrated to America in 1767. He settled in what is now Penn township, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, in 1770, and there erected the first cabin in that section. The depredations of the Indians compelled him to leave the area for a time, and he went to Pittsburgh; it was seven years before it was safe enough for him to return to his clearing. He was in active service in the Continental army during the Revolutionary War.
