General Notes: Husband - William F. Muhlenberg
He received a thorough education, attending Pennsylvania College until 1867, when he entered Muhlenberg College, from which he graduated in 1868. He then studied medicine with Dr. Charles H. Hunter of Reading, graduating from the medical department of the University of Pennsylvania in 1872. He still further perfected himself for his chosen profession by a special course in the hospital at Philadelphia, and in 1873 began practicing in Reading. He met with the most flattering success, giving most of his attention to surgery, in which he won considerable distinction. He was employed by the Pa. R. R., as their surgeon; was a member of the board of health for a number of terms, and was also surgeon in the Reading Hospital. He was a member of the Reading Medical Association, and the Berks County Medical Society, in both of which organizations he served in the capacity of president.
