General Notes: Husband - Samuel F. Moyer
He was educated in the German language, but could speak English. While he was a young man, he worked at shoemaking; but after having saved enough money to purchase a farm of 120 acres in Perry County, Pennsylvania, he removed to that county with his family, erected on his farm a frame house and barn, and planted an orchard. Besides cultivating his land, he interested himself to some extent in raising stock. Mr. Moyer was a Democrat; he served the township for several years as assessor, and also filled the office of supervisor. He was an earnest and consistent member of the German Reformed church, of which he had been successively deacon and elder.
