General Notes: Husband - John Barnhart
All his school education was received in the German language, nevertheless he learned to speak English as fluently as any. After his marriage he settled where the Kaylor coal mine was later operated, and his upright and industrious life gained and held the esteem of all who knew him. He took no part in politics, but was a Republican in sentiment, and he held membership in the German Reformed Church.
He was born in Butler County, PA. In 1829 he removed to Armstrong County and there bought property, near East Brady.
