General Notes: Husband - George H. Morford
He was a native of Indiana County, Pennsylvania, and passed his childhood and early youth on his father's farm in that region. His education was received at the local public schools, and after completing his studies at these institutions, he applied himself to learn the trade of carpenter and worked in the employ of D. R. Cunningham, and was also employed by a well known contractor at Blairsville for a number of years. Eventually, however, he abandoned this trade, and in the year 1905 removed to Livermore. Shortly after moving there he was offered and accepted the position of rural mail carrier and continued to fill this post until November, 1917, when he resigned, and he began running a garage and repair shop under the name of Drummond & Morford. They were also agents for several well known makes of cars and trucks.
In politics Mr. Morford was a Republican and made himself active in association with the local organization of his party. He served as a school director for seven years continuously. He was a Presbyterian in his religious belief and attended divine service at the church of that denomination in Livermore.
