General Notes: Husband - George Sober

---

Civil War: he served one year in Company K, Sixty-seventh Regiment, Pennsylvania Heavy Artillery.

He passed his life as a farmer in his native township. He owned the old farm upon which he was born, having bought out the other heirs. On the estate there was a well of natural gas. The house in which Mr. Sober lived was built in 1848 and was the third dwelling erected on the farm, the first having been a log structure. Until 1866 he was a Democrat, but after that year adhered to the Republican party.
