General Notes: Husband - John Eberhart
He and his wife had a family of nine children, but only three reached mature years.
At the age of seventeen he came with his parents to Millerstown, Butler County, Pennsylvania, where he learned the carpenter's trade. In 1857 he purchased a farm of seventy acres in Fairview township, Butler County, which he cleared and improved, and there he resided, engaged in farming, down to his death. Some good oil wells were drilled on his farm, which placed him in very comfortable circumstances.
He was a young man when he moved to Millerstown, Butler County, PA. He learned the carpenter's trade, but the main business of his life was farming and stock-raising. He was the organizer of Thalia Grange, Patrons of Husbandry, in his section and served as its chaplain from its founding until his death. In politics he was a Republican and he served in the offices of school director and supervisor. He and his wife were members of the Reformed Church, he being an elder. For many years he taught singing school and was chorister in the church.
