General Notes: Husband - Matthew W. Riddle
In spite of the fact that he was a mere boy when his father died he succeeded in obtaining a good education. He hauled logs with oxen for the building on the Riddle tract used as a school and attended there until he completed the course, and later he was the teacher, also following that profession in other places, including Wilmington. He was always a bookworm, enjoying study and mental recreations, and he became a skillful surveyor, at one time holding the office of county surveyor. [CAB, 773]
