General Notes: Husband - Robert Riddle




He accompanied his parents to Venango County, PA, in 1796. He served in the militia during the war of 1812, and was with Commodore Perry at the time of the famous engagement on Lake Erie. Inheriting half of the four hundred acres comprised in the home farm, the old home part, he devoted his active years to its improvement, and the brick house which he erected ninety years ago [from 1919] is still standing and in excellent condition, being occupied by his grandson, James Vick Riddle. The brick for this dwelling was made on the farm. [CAB, 1005]
