He was actively engaged in the dairy business for over eighteen years and was the main promoter, in 1903, of the Butler Pure Milk Company, of which he was president and general manager. He visited his office at Butler daily and had other business interests as well, one of those being the Butler Coal and Coke Company, of which he was a director.
