Mrs. Della E. Montgomery, 86, wife of Fred R. Montgomery, of Polk, died in the Franklin Hospital at 7:50 a.m. today following an extended illness.
She was born in Rockland Township on April 1, 1890, a daughter of Frank and Theresa Snyder Steiner. She worked at the General Manifold and Printing Co. for a number of years as an inspector.
She was married to Fred R. Montgomery on Aug. 20, 1944, and he survives, along with a daughter, Mrs. Anna Mae Shelley, of Miami, Fla.; two stepsons, Leonard H. and Ernest R. Montgomery, of Franklin, and a stepdaughter, Mrs. Constance Grantham, Greenville; a granddaughter, six step-grandchldren and seven great-grandchildren.
Two sisters, Goldie McGee and Dora Cochran, are deceased.
The body is at the Burger-Gardinier Funeral Home where friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday.
Funeral services will be conducted there at 1:30 p.m. Monday with the Rev. William McCray, pastor of the Galloway United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will be in Graham Cemetery, Bully Hill.
