General Notes: Husband - Samuel M. Smith

---

He removed from New Jersey to Becaria township, Clearfield County, Pennsylvania, in 1817, purchased 134 acres of timber land, cleared away the trees, built a log house and developed a good farm. He married, and after a few years, on account of the wildness of the place, they went to Philadelphia, where they remained for eight years, when they again came to the farm in Becaria township.
