General Notes: Husband - Jacob Frederick Peffer
He emigrated to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, in 1816, and in 1819 came to Harmony, Butler County. They were three weeks on the road from Philadelphia to Pittsburgh. He worked for Mr. Ziegler until 1823, when he returned to Philadelphia on foot. In 1839, he came again to Butler County, and in 1841 he settled on a farm in Lancaster township; for 400 acres of land he paid about $10 per acre. His sons, William F. and Charles, later occuppied a part of this land, as did two of his daughters, Mrs. Conrad Myers and Miss Caroline Peffer.
