General Notes: Husband - Bevan Pearson
He was a native of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. [HBC 1895, 1222]
He enjoyed all the advantages afforded in his early days by the schools of Eastern Pennsylvania. He removed to Neshannock Township, Mercer County, in 1805, and remained there till 1809, when he became a resident of Mercer. In 1808 he was elected a member of the Legislature, and in the following year was appointed to the various offices connected with the court. He was burgess of Mercer for many years, and was identified with the growth of the Mercer Academy. [HMC 1888, 692]
He owned a 200-acre tract of land about four miles north of New Castle, Pennsylvania, and near that owned by his brother, George Pearson. His purpose was to make it his home but, not long after its purchase he was elected to the House of Representatives at Harrisburg and at the close of his term, having been appointed Prothonotary of Mercer County, removed to Mercer where he remained.
