General Notes: Husband - Isaac Leonard Stright
He was graduated from Sheakleyville, Pennsylvania, High School in 1932 and from Allegheny College with an A. B. degree in 1935 and an A. M. degree in 1938. In 1946 he received his Ph. D. degree from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. He studied at the University of Chicago, Cornell University and Pennsylvania State University.
His field of study was higher education and mathematics. He taught in High Schools at Indiana and Freedom, Pennsylvania, and served on the faculty of Baldwin-Wallace College, Berea, Ohio and Northern Michigan University at Marquette, Michigan, from 1942 to 1947, when he became Professor of Mathematics at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. In 1957 he became the first dean of the Graduate School and served in that capacity until 1971 when he became Academic Vice President of Ohio Northern University, Ada, Ohio. In this position he had responsibility for academic planning and administration for the University which had over 3,000 enrolled in 1972.
He served on several professional organizations and wrote many articles in the field of his work. He was a member of the Ada Methodist Church, Masonic Lodge, Kiwanis and the Sons of the American Revolution (National No. 57421, Pa. State No. 3025) He was listed in WHO'S WHO IN AMERICA.
