General Notes: Husband - Levi Pawling
In the spring of 1848 he removed with his wife from Snyder County, Pennsylvania, to Juniata County, and in 1852 to a homestead [Kelly township, Union County?] where they spent the remainder of their lives. He was active and influential in local affairs, and in the Republican party, holding office at times, and was noted for his sound judgment. When a boy at play with his brother, from whom he was running, his right eye was destroyed through an accidental fall against a stove, a corner of the door striking his eye. He was a member of the Lutheran Church.
