General Notes: Husband - David Haxton Rodgers
He was brought up on the farm and attended public school. For about ten years he was a dealer in machinery and implements at Rose Point, Lawrence County, Pennsylvania. Having sold this business he bought a farm at Warren, Trumbull County, Ohio, remaining but one year. Returning to Pennsylvania, he kept a temperance hotel at Bakerstown, Allegheny County, and for about six months was engaged in the real estate business in Pittsburgh. June 1, 1906, he bought a farm of one hundred and ten acres in Clarion township, Clarion County, Pennsylvania. Beginning in December, 1909, he was associated with the E. A. Strout Farm Agency, and was very successful. He was a Republican and a Presbyterian.
He began life as a farmer and stock raiser, and specialized in pure bred sheep. He purchased his father's farm and continued farming until 1925, when he moved to Slippery Rock, Pennsylvania. In 1910 he established a real estate agency. He was a Republican and a member of the United Presbyterian Church, in which he held the office of deacon.
